In December, the ALERT Group of Companies reinforced its position in the South-American market through the creation of ALERT Serviços de Licenciamento de Sistemas de Informática para a Saúde Ldta., a company based in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais State, Brazil.
ALERT bought the majority of Orcinus BV's share capital and 100% of myPartner Healthcare Solutions.
633 Hospitals and 7936 Primary Care Centers have chosen ALERT® software solutions.

ALERT initiates the development of ALERT® 2.0, a web-based product, contrary to ALERT® 1.0, which was client-server based.

Head office moved from the 1-bedroom apartment to a small office, in Porto.
To raise funds to develop its clinical software ALERT Manchester (ALERT triage module) and ALERT® ER (the first ALERT product for emergency rooms), ALERT submitted an application for funding and was later funded by Agência de Inovação (ADI; Innovation Agency, Portugal).

ALERT's first website (mni.pt) was launched (July 2000).
1999
ALERT was founded by M. Jorge Guimaraes, M.D., Ph.D., in a one-bedroom apartment in Porto.
