On January 20, 2009, ALERT promoted an entry questionnaire and blood collection session to employees who wished to belong to the bone marrow voluntary donors’ database. This session was carried out in partnership with the Histocompatibility Center from the North (of Portugal).

"Being a bone marrow donor essentially means the INTENTION OF SAVING someone else’s life. It means SAVING people from anywhere in the world, where age, gender, race, color, religion, social background, political views and any other differences do not make any difference and neither do they promote divisions amongst people". Dr. Helena Alves, Director of the Histocompatibility Center from the North.

The proposed challenge to the ALERT team achieved a positive outcome, as 50 employees participated in this session.
