ALERT® EDIS – a software solution for Emergency Departments – and ALERT® ADW – a tool that statistically processes and analyzes stored data – went live on August 4, 2010, at Santa Casa de Misericórdia de Passos Hospital (SCPH) in Minas Gerais, Brazil.
Santa Casa de Misericórdia de Passos is a regional and philanthropic facility that serves the population of the southwest of Minas Gerais.
SCPH's Emergency Services offer 19 medical specialties and process an average of 114 episodes per day. This implementation involved training 426 professionals in how to use ALERT®.
The mentioned project contemplates the installation and use of ALERT® in SCPH's Emergency Services for the creation of electronic health records. This service provides care to patients from the national health service and from private health insurers that have protocols with the facility.
The computerization of this Emergency Department is part of the Minas Gerais Secretary of State for Health project to organize the state's Emergency Services, which starts at admission by using the Manchester Protocol to establish priorities regarding emergency patients, and then follows them throughout the service by using an electronic health record.
