This workshop was promoted by the IHE North America with the aim of preparing the Interoperability Showcase to be presented at HIMSS08.

ALERT was represented by its members of staff responsible for the standards development and integration.

ALERT's presence in this workshop means a step forward in its future participation in the following events promoted by IHE North America:

- Connectathon USA, Chicago, January 2008. This event, aimed at technical professionals, which gathers the main health software vendors worldwide, will allow the testing of new interoperability functionalities and its certification by the use of standards.

- Interoperability Showcase, February 2008, a public exhibit of interoperability amongst softwares, which comply with IHE and HITSP specifications.

This workshop also included sessions in which those responsible for IHE technical committees explained the status of methods and solutions currently in use for the interoperability amongst health softwares through the use of standards.

During this event, there was also a presentation of HITSP profiles and specifications, which will be demonstrated during HIMSS08, together with other IHE solutions.

This is the third consecutive year that ALERT participates in this cycle of events promoted by IHE North America - whilst also participating in the IHE Europe events.

Through these participations, ALERT is able to maintain its commitment to product innovation and update, by using the most recent international standards that were developed for the interoperability amongst health software solutions. This way, ALERT takes on an active role in the creation of worldwide innovative technological solutions.
