ALERT congratulates EC initiative on IHE

On July 28, 2015, the European Commission (EC) announced that 27 Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) Profiles were eligible for referencing in public procurements.
The profiles in question relate to detailed specifications that have been developed over a period of 15 years within the committees of IHE, which optimize the selection of well-established standards that describe the different layers of interoperability with a view to find interoperability solutions for the exchanging and/or sharing of medical data.
This is hugely significant for vendors that are IHE compliant and have eligible profiles, such as ALERT. Furthermore, ALERT is a proud participant at IHE internationally and a regular participant at Connectathons, which are interoperability exercises that enable IHE profiles to be tested and publicly stated.
For vendors and users, who are the real beneficiaries of this recognition, the path is very clear – public procurements and, most likely, private procurements will now specify compliance with IHE Profiles and proof of compliance by Connectathon participation of which ALERT is a regular contributor.
