The ALERT Foundation (being legally established) promoted, in partnership with the Educational Services of Casa da Música (music hall in Porto), a project entitled "Casa vai a Casa" (From Home to Home), which mainly aims at performing interventions with the population through music. Nicolau Nasoni Comprehensive School was selected for this project.

The project had a 6 week duration, from January to March, divided in 2 hour sessions. Jorge Prendas and Joaquim Branco, two Casa da Música tutors, oriented a group of around 20 students in the process of creating musical pieces with a narrative structure. The participants' life experiences and their environment, and the Contumil estate, were the inspiration behind those musical pieces.

The outcome of this project was presented to the school community on March 16 as a music show, and this in turn promoted proximity with the educational community. When the students finished their performance, everyone – both guests and participants – watched a short video with selected moments from the sessions and the evaluation interviews with the participants.

This project aims at observing and evaluating how music can be a means of intervention with the public in school contexts and the development of the whole process.
